Join us for a 4 days trek to Bansi Narayan, the highest lord Narayan temple in Urgam Valley of Uttarakhand state. Bansi Narayan is a 10 kms challenging trek in the Chamoli district of Garhwal Region. The trek will start from YogMatra Eco Homestay in Danikhet Village of Urgam Valley.
About Bansi Narayan Temple:
At a height of around 3558 Metres, the highly revered temple of Lord Narayana is peacefully adorned exactly in between Rudranath Mahadev temple and Kalpeshwar Mahadev temple in the Garhwal Himalayas. The celestial temple is snuggled inside the rhododendron forests and the alpine meadows. The exhilarating trek to Bansi Narayan temple can be commenced from YogMatra Eco Homestay in Urgam Valley. Only once in a year during Rakshabandhan festival, the temple is opened for devotees coming in large numbers from nearby villages of Urgam Valley. The Himalayan peaks adding to the glory of Bansi Narayan are Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Barmal, Dronagiri, Hath Parvat etc.

Reach YogMatra EcoStay in Urgam Valley
Travelling Distance: 250 kms
Travelling Time: 7-8 Hours
Reach our base camp in Urgam Valley. YogMatra EcoStay has been created very close to nature on the Rudranath Trek route with the concept of sustainable and community living. Stay will be in himalayan mud house. We need to trek for 1 kms to reach EcoStay. Welcome tea and dinner will be provided.

Trek to Banga Pani Stream
After breakfast we will do the Banga Pani Trek which passes through beautiful forest full of big Cypress Trees. Once you reach Banga Pani, you'll find yourself on a lush green meadow with a snake like stream passing through it.
This is a good preparation for Bansi Narayan Trek on the next day. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided.

Trek to Bansi Narayan Temple
Trekking Distance: 10 kms
Trekking Time: 6-7 Hours
Early morning we will leave for the Trek passing through beautiful Bansa Village. We will stop by at Urva Rishi Temple and then proceed for Mali Bugyal. Since this is the only day when Bansi Narayan Temple is open, We will see many local people on the Trek. After reaching Temple and taking the blessings of Lord Narayana, we will come down through the same way and reach Ecostay by evening.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided.

Drive back to Rishikesh
Distance : 250 kms
We will checkout from YogMatra EcoStay and drive our journey towards Rishikesh. Breakfast will be provided.
- The stay will be provided on twin sharing basis at YogMatra Eco Homestay. Triple/Quadruple sharing will be done on the basis of Male/Female count. This is a budget trip and focus is more towards experiencing local culture and promoting tourism in the village.
- Vegetarian Indian meal will be provided. Meals as mentioned in the day wise itinerary will be provided.

Yes anyone can do. A daily walk of around 3-4 kms for a week is a preparatory step for this trek.
In day time its hot and sunny. The mornings and nights are colder where temperature is around 5-10 degrees. However this speculation is based on experience and you can never predict weather in the Himalayas.
